The crowd rose to their feet as Apolo Urritz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bart Basson. Vamo A Calmarno's Blas Abella was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Roberto Jatsu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 57th minute Carlos Larra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bart Basson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
