General Velásquez's Henry Tucknott proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save General Velásquez from getting a goal against them. In the 5th minute U21 Chile were awarded a corner. Mark Gonzalez went to the cornerflag to take it. 7 minutes into the game, Guntademaro Goyenechea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Hipolito Fritz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Manuelo Oñez y Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of U21 Chile booed when General Velásquez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fernando Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, General Velásquez's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Huilipan came free, but Henry Tucknott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Henry Tucknott successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 20 minutes into the match, Victor Hugo Painevilu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Henry Tucknott, 1-1. In the 23rd minute of the match U21 Chile got a corner. General Velásquez's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mark Gonzalez ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to General Velásquez getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Manuelo Oñez y Loyola hit a great ball. Rodrigo Huilipan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henry Tucknott read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Clemente Tuñon put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Hipolito Fritz. In the 40th minute, Manuelo Oñez y Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristopher Damian came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Henry Tucknott could save by the left post. 47 minutes into the game, Luiz Fernando Cardoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. General Velásquez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Chile the free kick. Luiz Fernando Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half General Velásquez were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodrigo Huilipan to strike the kick off in the second half. Henry Tucknott showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mark Gonzalez in the 53rd minute of the match. Cristopher Damian kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Henry Tucknott took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Huilipan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the game, Jorge Vicente Squella cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Hipolito Fritz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. General Velásquez's Guntademaro Goyenechea got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 72 minutes into the game, U21 Chile's Cristopher Damian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henry Tucknott made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. With an all-out effort, General Velásquez's Hipolito Fritz threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Guntademaro Goyenechea, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A sloppy throw-in by Jorge Vicente Squella in the 81st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by U21 Chile's Victor Hugo Painevilu. Henry Tucknott made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Hugo Painevilu in the 83rd minute of play. U21 Chile were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after General Velásquez's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mark Gonzalez took the corner. The corner ended in Victor Hugo Painevilu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but General Velásquez's Henry Tucknott did a great save. Guntademaro Goyenechea scored 2-5 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hipolito Fritz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. U21 Chile's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Guntademaro Goyenechea 90 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-6. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. General Velásquez walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
