Boris Adames ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Club Puerto Quito's goalie and right to Roman Durana. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Club Puerto Quito's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Lavallén Pelon who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Mauricio Precioso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 8th minute, Lavallén Pelon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 15th minute, Valdo Zaitegui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sergio Armoña showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rufino Giron, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Sergio Armoña stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rufino Giron's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After a rather tough play, Club Puerto Quito's Jhon Costa got a free kick in the 24th minute. The supporters of Warlocks -CR- booed when Club Puerto Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erdinç Hayırlı didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ximenez Almarza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rufino Giron was the one to do the kick off. Ayoví Costoya could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Sergio Armoña made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Lavallén Pelon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mauricio Precioso was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. After 89 minutes Club Puerto Quito's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rafael Paradelo who took care of the corner kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Warlocks -CR- fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Puerto Quito had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
