In the 6th minute, Willian Bigotte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lorenzo Acutain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. M E G A D E T H's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Jakub Ziombkowski scored to the left of an out of position Zernin Durana, making the score, 2-0. Jörn Svartengrens short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Zernin Durana to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Inter de Guayaquil FC booed when M E G A D E T H was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pinto Fuertes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Jörn Svartengren dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Zernin Durana, 5-0. Salvador Musacchio hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Jörn Svartengren in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Zernin Durana, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Jörn Svartengren got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jörn Svartengren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zernin Durana made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Jörn Svartengren sent off a good shot on target. Jörn Svartengren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

M E G A D E T H's Zernin Durana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jörn Svartengren in the 51st minute of play. Zernin Durana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörn Svartengren in the 58th minute of play. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Jörn Svartengren got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Inter de Guayaquil FC made a substitution. Éric Cantona replaced Jörn Svartengren. In the 62nd match minute, M E G A D E T H was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pinto Fuertes to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in M E G A D E T H's zone, Jakub Ziombkowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zernin Durana came out of the goal and Jakub Ziombkowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Éric Cantona in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zernin Durana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Éric Cantona succeeded in the game's 76th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 8-0. Éric Cantona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 85 minutes, Éric Cantona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Éric Cantona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Éric Cantona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zernin Durana. M E G A D E T H's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Éric Cantona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 10-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Éric Cantona in the 94th minute of play forced M E G A D E T H's goalkeeper Zernin Durana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
