Paulo Laurentzi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of Ferman Guillen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 7 played minutes Criciúma Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Valadares. Nataniel Hormaza hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 9 minutes into the match, Sugamuxi's goal looked a bit too open when Gaztea Regalado came free, but Ferman Guillen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nataniel Hormaza got a throw-in 11 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Goyo Salais. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sugamuxi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Paulo Laurentzi was slow to take the kick. During this time Criciúma Esporte Clube's players had a chance to rest. Evelio Antoniano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Goyo Salais in the 21st minute of play. Gaztea Regalado might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ferman Guillen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gaztea Regalado ran back to his position shaking his head. Ferman Guillen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaztea Regalado in the 25th minute of the match. Usub Raha kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the game, Nataniel Hormaza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sugamuxi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Criciúma Esporte Clube the free kick. When Gaztea Regalado came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Criciúma Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaztea Regalado couldn't finish the play. After 41 played minutes Sugamuxi got a freekick which was hit by Nataniel Hormaza. The crowd rose to their feet as Paulo Laurentzi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ferman Guillen. That made the score 2-0 in the 45 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gaztea Regalado was the one to do the kick off. Sugamuxi's Ferman Guillen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaztea Regalado in the 51st minute of play. Ferman Guillen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Laurentzi in the 53rd minute of the match. Bartolomeo Simpson hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cordero Jesus during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 61st match minute, Sugamuxi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cordero Jesus to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaztea Regalado in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ferman Guillen saved Sugamuxi from getting behind. A collision led to Criciúma Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Luiz Valadares hit a great ball. Sugamuxi made a substitution. Salamon Villachica replaced Nataniel Hormaza. After 67 played minutes Criciúma Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Valadares. Evelio Antoniano came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Sugamuxi's Cordero Jesus. But to his dismay, Cordero Jesus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Sugamuxi's Ferman Guillen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaztea Regalado in the 72nd minute of play. Paulo Laurentzi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ferman Guillen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Laurentzi in the 74th minute of play forced Sugamuxi's goalkeeper Ferman Guillen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Paulo Laurentzi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ferman Guillen was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sugamuxi's goalkeeper Ferman Guillen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sugamuxi's Nerio Doro was substituted for Cordero Jesus. In the 94th minute Gaztea Regalado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferman Guillen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nerio Doro did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-2 to the left of a surprised Evelio Antoniano 96 minutes into the match.
