The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Devon Howson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético de Newell's supporters rose to their feet, but Devon Howson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anderson Laguna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Barbaros Seçkin succeeded in the game's 5th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Barbaros Seçkin might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dušan Ančic. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Barbaros Seçkin ran back to his position shaking his head. After 8 played minutes SRP-Laguna got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Figueiredo. Emirşah Öktemer kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Devon Howson in the 13th minute of play forced SRP-Laguna's goalkeeper Anderson Laguna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dušan Ančic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xu Le Shu in the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Spike Foley in the 17th minute of play forced SRP-Laguna's goalkeeper Anderson Laguna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xu Le Shu struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Dušan Ančic didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SRP-Laguna. Club Atlético de Newell's Dušan Ančic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xu Le Shu in the 22nd minute of play. Anderson Laguna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Devon Howson in the 27th minute of the match. Xu Le Shu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dušan Ančic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xu Le Shu, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Anderson Laguna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Percival went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A sloppy throw-in by Barbaros Seçkin in the 35th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Club Atlético de Newell's Spike Foley. After 39 minutes Club Atlético de Newell's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emirşah Öktemer who took care of the corner kick. Xu Le Shu might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dušan Ančic. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xu Le Shu ran back to his position shaking his head. 46 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goal looked a bit too open when Xu Le Shu came free, but Dušan Ančic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dušan Ančic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xu Le Shu, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

SRP-Laguna's Deivid de Sena was substituted for Rafael Furtado. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastian Percival stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Club Atlético de Newell's Spike Foley got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dušan Ančic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xu Le Shu in the 64th minute of the match. Xu Le Shu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xu Le Shu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dušan Ančic read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Anderson Laguna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Percival, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SRP-Laguna's Xu Le Shu got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SRP-Laguna's Artur Senna was substituted for Xu Le Shu. Anderson Laguna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Percival in the 84th minute of the match. SRP-Laguna's Frasier Crane was substituted for Artur Senna. Anderson Laguna made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Pastor Eufemio sent off a good shot on target. The SRP-Laguna fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when SRP-Laguna's Frasier Crane looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. SRP-Laguna were victorious despite being under pressure from Club Atlético de Newell for much of the match.
