Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gustavo Albages took the kick off in the first half of the match. C.D. Pepino’s's Balendín Tineo got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 4 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Balendín Tineo came free, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustavo Albages sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tanio Chavez made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Nelsinho Marinho sent off a good shot on target. In the 26th minute, C.D. Pepino’s's Jonathan Abad seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jonathan Abad the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of C.D. Pepino’s protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jonathan Abad had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 30 minutes into the game, Palestra do Interior's Nelsinho Marinho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tanio Chavez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Ronaldo Pirani could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Tanio Chavez made a huge save. Tanio Chavez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldo Pirani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christiano Palmeira hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in C.D. Pepino’s's zone, Ronaldo Pirani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tanio Chavez came out of the goal and Ronaldo Pirani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 47 played minutes C.D. Pepino’s got a freekick which was hit by Balendín Tineo. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nelsinho Marinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when C.D. Pepino’s was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lázaro Sobarzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tanio Chavez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelsinho Marinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. C.D. Pepino’s's Tanio Chavez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho Marinho in the 62nd minute of play. If Ronaldo Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 64thth minute of the game Nelsinho Marinho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.D. Pepino’s's Tanio Chavez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tanio Chavez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the match, Nelsinho Marinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tanio Chavez. C.D. Pepino’s's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nelsinho Marinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After 79 played minutes C.D. Pepino’s got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Stuven. 79 minutes into the match, C.D. Pepino’s's goal looked a bit too open when Nelsinho Marinho came free, but Tanio Chavez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's Zé Orella sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tanio Chavez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to C.D. Pepino’s getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Xamín Llamllam hit a great ball. Nelsinho Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Tanio Chavez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelsinho Marinho in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tanio Chavez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tanio Chavez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel de Souza in the 90th minute of play.
