GREEK ARMY's Styrbjörn Stokken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sancho Denner in the 10th minute of play. Styrbjörn Stokken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clayton Gol in the 18th minute of play. Clayton Gol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Styrbjörn Stokken made a huge save. GREEK ARMY's Styrbjörn Stokken proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save GREEK ARMY from getting a goal against them. Sheriff's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Akakios Trachanas in the 28th minute. After taking down the ball on Sheriff's corner Akakios Trachanas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Styrbjörn Stokken quite easily take care of the ball. In the 29thth minute of the game Clayton Gol who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GREEK ARMY's Styrbjörn Stokken was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 31st minute of the match Sheriff got a corner. GREEK ARMY's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Akakios Trachanas ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Iraklis Karasavvidis managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Clayton Gol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Styrbjörn Stokken made a huge save. If Clayton Gol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clayton Gol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Styrbjörn Stokken read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Sheriff's Clayton Gol slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Styrbjörn Stokken. That made the score 1-0 after 41 minutes of play. A collision led to GREEK ARMY getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Omiros Rodanakis hit a great ball. GREEK ARMY's Styrbjörn Stokken proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save GREEK ARMY from getting a goal against them. In the 47th minute Sheriff were awarded a corner. Akakios Trachanas went to the cornerflag to take it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Grigoris Karagiotakis to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clayton Gol in the 51st minute of play forced GREEK ARMY's goalkeeper Styrbjörn Stokken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 52 minutes into the game, Sheriff's Clayton Gol nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Styrbjörn Stokken made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 57 minutes into the match, GREEK ARMY's goal looked a bit too open when Clayton Gol came free, but Styrbjörn Stokken reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sheriff's Kutay Erbaş was substituted for Emmanouil Paltopoulos. Styrbjörn Stokken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damaso Xacintu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Styrbjörn Stokken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Xacintu in the 68th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Kasper Elssen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Styrbjörn Stokken made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Yahia van der Saar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grigoris Karagiotakis in the 76th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Damaso Xacintu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sheriff fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. GREEK ARMY's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
