Real Madrid's Zheng Zhen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgiliu Doroftei in the 7th minute of play. The corner ended in Luiz Paulo Marquez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Real Madrid's Zheng Zhen did a great save. Zheng Zhen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgiliu Doroftei in the 10th minute of the match. Real Madrid's Zheng Zhen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgiliu Doroftei in the 13th minute of play. Zheng Zhen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgiliu Doroftei, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute Mugurel Nediu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andréas Linquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zheng Zhen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Virgiliu Doroftei's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. With a little luck, Grêmio FBPA's Andréas Linquist got control of the ball when Emanuel Hârșu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Real Madrid's Zheng Zhen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgiliu Doroftei in the 29th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Virgiliu Doroftei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio FBPA's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgiliu Doroftei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zheng Zhen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zheng Zhen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgiliu Doroftei in the 37th minute of the match. In the 40th minute Virgiliu Doroftei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zheng Zhen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zheng Zhen came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio FBPA's Virgiliu Doroftei. But to his dismay, Virgiliu Doroftei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 44 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Paulo Marquez. A collision led to Real Madrid getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Inocencio Nicholas hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Virgiliu Doroftei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgiliu Doroftei in the 51st minute of play forced Real Madrid's goalkeeper Zheng Zhen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Virgiliu Doroftei dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Zheng Zhen, 0-2. Virgiliu Doroftei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sansan Alatas in the 70th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Andréas Linquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Virgiliu Doroftei had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zheng Zhen. Real Madrid's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Virgiliu Doroftei was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 74thth minute of the game Mugurel Nediu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grêmio FBPA's Andréas Linquist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Virgiliu Doroftei kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zheng Zhen. That made the score 0-4 in the 75 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Hârșu in the 81st minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Andréas Linquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 83 played minutes Real Madrid got a freekick which was hit by Gaitan Melic. With a little luck, Real Madrid's Zheng Zhen got control of the ball when Virgiliu Doroftei tried to sneak it across the goal line. Virgiliu Doroftei took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zheng Zhen. Zheng Zhen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. 96 minutes into the match, Virgiliu Doroftei had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zheng Zhen. Real Madrid's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Virgiliu Doroftei was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6.

Chants of Grêmio FBPA echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Real Madrid had held the ball for most of the match.
