Casper Claes came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Buritama Sports's Cássio Soeiro. But to his dismay, Cássio Soeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cássio Soeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Murilo Ferreira having to make a save. Buritama Sports's Murilo Ferreira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Buritama Sports from getting a goal against them. 15 minutes into the match, Nuno Fonseca notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Belgium's Casper Claes. Casper Claes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abelardo da Fonseca in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Casper Claes saved Belgium from getting behind. In the 18th minute, Sander Dermaut hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wang Wei Sha in the 20th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the game, Belgium's Yves Dervaux nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Murilo Ferreira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 25 minutes into the game, Yves Dervaux recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Murilo Ferreira. Yves Dervaux showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Soeiro in the 31st minute of the match. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Murilo Ferreira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. 34 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Soeiro came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Vítor Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Buritama Sports's Murilo Ferreira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Buritama Sports from getting a goal against them. 43 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Murilo Ferreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardinho Nascimento during the 50th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Belgium booed when Buritama Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardinho Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute, Cássio Soeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abelardo da Fonseca in the 55th minute of play. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Buritama Sports's goalkeeper Murilo Ferreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Murilo Ferreira having to make a save. Murilo Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 61st minute of play. When Vítor Leão fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buritama Sports's protests and gave Vítor Leão a yellow card for diving instead. After 67 played minutes Buritama Sports got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Leão. Buritama Sports made a substitution. Vito Senna replaced Nuno Fonseca. Buritama Sports's Doriva Souto was substituted for Cássio Soeiro. Buritama Sports's Ricardo Dias was substituted for Amauri Peixoto. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo da Fonseca in the 83rd minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Abelardo da Fonseca reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Casper Claes. The goal made the score 2-3. Murilo Ferreira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yves Dervaux's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Buritama Sports's Murilo Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yves Dervaux in the 93rd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Doriva Souto came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Buritama Sports supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Buritama Sports would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
