In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Maxime Durand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastián Villa in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute Sebastián Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maxime Durand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastián Villa took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maxime Durand. Maxime Durand dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After having played for 36 minutes, Teofilo Mikeldi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cavaliers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teofilo Mikeldi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th match minute, France was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Robiquet to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in France's zone, Sebastián Villa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maxime Durand came out of the goal and Sebastián Villa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maxime Durand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastián Villa in the 44th minute of play. 46 minutes into the game, Cavaliers FC's Sebastián Villa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maxime Durand made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After the first half Cavaliers FC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Maxime Durand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastián Villa, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 54 minutes into the match, France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ambrosio Iratxo. The crowd rose to their feet as Cavaliers FC's Sebastián Villa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Maxime Durand. That made the score 0-7 after 79 minutes of play. In the 84th minute, Sebastián Villa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cavaliers FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. Cavaliers FC's Pastor Etxeberri was substituted for Ambrosio Iratxo. Frank Peletier charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
