Zvezdan Nedeljkovic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Selvin Ocampo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Serbia's Borjan Golubovic managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Edgardo Galdamez in the 17 minute of the game. 20 minutes into the match, Selvin Ocampo notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edgar Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marvin Palencia in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saved Serbia from getting behind. 26 minutes into the match, Serbia's goal looked a bit too open when Félix Reyes came free, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sreten Popovic charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sreten Popovic the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Selvin Ocampo in the 29th minute of play forced Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Borjan Golubovic hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute, Marvin Palencia made a precise shot to the right of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Serbia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. 34 minutes into the match, Serbia's goal looked a bit too open when Félix Reyes came free, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shawn Barquero in the 38th minute of play. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Estrella Roatan's Edgar Moreira. But to his dismay, Edgar Moreira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. 44 minutes into the match, Serbia's Sreten Popovic sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronald Castaneda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Marvin Palencia sent off a good shot on target. 54 minutes into the game, Edgar Moreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A sloppy throw-in by Edgardo Galdamez in the 58th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Serbia's Sreten Popovic. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Moreira in the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st minute Edgar Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edgar Moreira went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. In the 66th minute Saul Reyes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Saul Reyes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 69 minute of play. Marvin Palencia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a huge save. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was a little too slow when Félix Reyes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 86th minute. The score was now 0-9. An unexpectedly hard shot by Selvin Ocampo in the 92nd minute of play forced Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded Estrella Roatan left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Serbia.
