Kayden Ward kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Marvin Palencia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 5th minute Marvin Palencia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Higgins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexander Higgins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marvin Palencia took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alexander Higgins. Alexander Higgins dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Alexander Higgins came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Estrella Roatan's Marvin Palencia. But to his dismay, Marvin Palencia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When the match had been going on for 20 minutes, Scotland's Zac O'Donnell got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ronald Castaneda. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marvin Palencia in the 23rd minute of play forced Scotland's goalkeeper Alexander Higgins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexander Higgins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Alexander Higgins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Moreira in the 28th minute of the match. If Edgar Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Marvin Palencia sped through Scotland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alexander Higgins. The supporters of Scotland booed when Estrella Roatan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Estrella Roatan were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgar Moreira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Estrella Roatan's Selvin Ocampo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alexander Higgins. Alexander Higgins yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Alexander Higgins made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Marvin Palencia sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Scotland's Zac O'Donnell got a free kick in the 58th minute. A collision led to Estrella Roatan getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Diego Victorino hit a great ball. Scotland's Alexander Higgins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Moreira in the 67th minute of play. After 68 minutes, Jose Figueroa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Estrella Roatan and the Scotland players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 68th minute, Jose Figueroa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Ashton Nelson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scotland's supporters rose to their feet, but Ashton Nelson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronald Castaneda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Scotland's Alexander Higgins got control of the ball when Marvin Palencia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Marvin Palencia could shoot a difficult shot in the 76th minute, which Alexander Higgins however easily saved by the left post. After 80 minutes, Jack MacKinnon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Scotland and the Estrella Roatan players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st match minute, Scotland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jack MacKinnon to maneuver through the defense. Scotland's Alexander Higgins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Moreira in the 83rd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Félix Reyes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alexander Higgins, 1-5. A hard shot 87 in the game by Marvin Palencia from a close distance when the talented Alexander Higgins managed to make a qualified save. Scotland's players were relieved. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgar Moreira in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexander Higgins saved Scotland from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Félix Reyes in the 92nd minute of play forced Scotland's goalkeeper Alexander Higgins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Edgar Moreira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alexander Higgins. That made the score 1-6 in the 93 minute of play. Scotland's defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when Marvin Palencia scored to the left of an out of position Alexander Higgins, making the score, 1-7. Estrella Roatan played a much better game than Scotland and deserved their victory. The Scotland players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
