The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Adolfo Paris in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 54th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Adolfo Paris was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for CerKeteam through an amazing save. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Adolfo Paris successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 59 minutes of play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. But to his dismay, David Eikelkamp quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Netherlands had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
