After 25 minutes, Oscar Ted mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barbudos FC and the Slovakia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 36 minutes, Jonatan Inguma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barbudos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonatan Inguma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonatan Inguma hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Zheng Rong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Giannis Antetokounmpo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barbudos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Giannis Antetokounmpo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henrich Slany breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 45 minutes into the match, Barbudos FC's goalkeeper Teofilo Ermano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Metod Mlynar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonatan Inguma to make the kick off. Giannis Antetokounmpo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 79th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 80 played minutes Slovakia got a freekick which was hit by Vít Biskup. The supporters of Barbudos FC booed when Slovakia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kornel Jahoda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oliver Holub struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Teofilo Ermano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Slovakia.
