Malins Nallebjörnar were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after France's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lars Dahlman took the corner. Fredric Lundqvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Peletier's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. 33 minutes into the match, France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Måns Berglund.
