Luca Schaub's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maxime Durand read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of F.C. Augsburg 1907 booed when France was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remy Dupuy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camille Baume fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achim Meyers having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Peletier was the one to do the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maxime Durand prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 92 minutes into the match, F.C. Augsburg 1907's goalkeeper Achim Meyers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Peletier. In the 93rd minute Göksel Müfit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maxime Durand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the France players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for F.C. Augsburg 1907.
