The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Drafi's Manolis Ntouvaris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Eikelkamp in the 28th minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Manolis Ntouvaris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Soulis Felegakis to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Edgard Elssen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgard Elssen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 64th minute Drafi were awarded a corner. Boleslaw Kojder went to the cornerflag to take it. Chatziioannou Stavrakos made a great header on Drafi's corner, it was just that Netherlands's Arnout Reekers managed to reach the ball for a save. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Elssen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Drafi's Manolis Ntouvaris got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Drafi's Giannis Karagiotis got a free kick in the 74th minute. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Elssen, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute.
