Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zlatko Zahovič in the 5th minute of play. After 6 minutes Germany's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Darren Carabott who took care of the corner kick. Tommy Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Severino Bueno in the 10th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severino Bueno. In the 16th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Tanti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Bueno came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Zlatko Zahovič recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tommy Kahn. Zlatko Zahovič showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 27 minutes into the match, Eleven Young Elephants's goal looked a bit too open when Albin Holweck came free, but Aaron Tanti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st match minute, Eleven Young Elephants was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vilmos Szikora to maneuver through the defense. Albin Holweck's late challenge caught a Eleven Young Elephants's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albin Holweck helped the player get up and apologised. After 38 minutes Eleven Young Elephants's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Frank Sachs who took care of the corner kick. Vilmos Szikora made in the 40th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Carlo Camilleri immediately put the ball in play. The audience was convinced that Frank Sachs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aaron Tanti was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Severino Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eleven Young Elephants's supporters rose to their feet, but Severino Bueno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46thth minute of the game Severino Bueno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Germany's Tommy Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Sachs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eleven Young Elephants's Aaron Tanti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Eleven Young Elephants from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Sachs got free with Aaron Tanti in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 57th minute Severino Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frank Sachs who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Aaron Tanti when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 60 minutes, Enzo Perez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eleven Young Elephants and the Germany players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 62nd minute Severino Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Zlatko Zahovič made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Eleven Young Elephants's António Silva was substituted for Daan Jurásek. Janik Vogt hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute Severino Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Severino Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Bueno in the 79th minute of play. Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Severino Bueno went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. In the 82nd minute, Severino Bueno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 83 minutes into the game, Adrian Dreifuss was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Germany's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eleven Young Elephants the free kick. After a rather tough play, Germany's Adrian Dreifuss got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Albin Holweck kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Severino Bueno in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 94th minute Darren Carabott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eleven Young Elephants's Severino Bueno got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
