Kevin Mier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Sabaneta FC booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gijsbert ter Kruimer didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Petri Romuroso tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petri Romuroso got free with Arnout Reekers in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Helder Cadanes in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute David Eikelkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Mier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Sabaneta FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Firman Urquizu hit a great ball. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Helder Cadanes in the 38th minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rian Giggs in the 40th minute of play. Sabaneta FC's Kevin Mier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 42nd minute of play.

The wind increased when Rian Giggs made the kick off in the second half. Kevin Mier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Antonio Masciarelli kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. Despite this Kevin Mier quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 61 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Helder Cadanes came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute David Eikelkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Mier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Masciarelli came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Kevin Mier made a huge save. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Helder Cadanes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 74 minutes, Kevin Mier successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 78 played minutes Sabaneta FC got a freekick which was hit by Rian Giggs. David Fuentes hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 86 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Petri Romuroso came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kevin Mier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 87th minute. Kevin Mier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 88th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Sabaneta FC defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kevin Mier. The Sabaneta FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kevin Mier should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew the final whistle, Sabaneta FC could leave the field as winners, despite Netherlands having more of the ball for most of the match.
