The supporters of Italy booed when The Nerd Herd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Odysseas Lagidis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Italy's zone, Marian Banas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Vittori came out of the goal and Marian Banas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Italy's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sigfrido Auletta in the 28th minute. Enzo Noce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Jan-Kenneth Skog hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, The Nerd Herd's Di Zhen Guo got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Sigfrido Auletta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Enzo Noce having to make a save. Sigfrido Auletta ran back to his position shaking his head. Zaccheo Andolina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 50th match minute, Italy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Cutri to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zaccheo Andolina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Enzo Noce was a little too slow when Zaccheo Andolina got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 61st minute of play forced The Nerd Herd's goalkeeper Enzo Noce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Di Zhen Guo kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Jan-Kenneth Skog made in the 69th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Alin Armeanca immediately put the ball in play. The throw-in from Eliseo Cutri in the 70th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by The Nerd Herd's Jan-Kenneth Skog. 71 minutes into the match, The Nerd Herd's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Enzo Noce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zaccheo Andolina in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enzo Noce saved The Nerd Herd from getting behind. Enzo Noce came out and tried to block the shot, but Adriano Curto slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 97th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Italy eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
