After 23 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Mathijn Doctor. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klement Bryk, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 27th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Klement Bryk sent off a good shot on target. Klement Bryk made a great header on Ajax's corner, it was just that Netherlands's Arnout Reekers managed to reach the ball for a save.
