The crowd rose to their feet as Real Suciedad F.C's Eusebio Vistruario slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arnout Reekers. That made the score 1-3 after 16 minutes of play. Wim Wilmes scored 1-4 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Prudencio Brion, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 25th minute of play forced Real Suciedad F.C's goalkeeper Prudencio Brion to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lars Meesters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prudencio Brion having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Real Suciedad F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Prudencio Brion reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 minutes of play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Prudencio Brion was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38th minute David Eikelkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prudencio Brion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Prudencio Brion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 45th minute of play. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 47th minute. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Prudencio Brion quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eusebio Vistruario stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Eikelkamp in the 59th minute of play forced Real Suciedad F.C's goalkeeper Prudencio Brion to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Prudencio Brion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Prudencio Brion. Real Suciedad F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gijsbert ter Kruimer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wim Wilmes might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Prudencio Brion. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wim Wilmes ran back to his position shaking his head. 72 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Prudencio Brion. Real Suciedad F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustaaf Groeneveldt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-8. A collision led to Real Suciedad F.C getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Jose Dorio hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gijsbert ter Kruimer got free with Prudencio Brion in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Prudencio Brion could save by the left post. Venancio Dayam kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Doru Aanicăi kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Real Suciedad F.C's Prudencio Brion proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Real Suciedad F.C from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Real Suciedad F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Kepa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prudencio Brion having to interfere. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Gust Ennemans hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Lars Meesters made a precise shot to the right of Prudencio Brion. Real Suciedad F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-9. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Prudencio Brion made a huge save. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Netherlands played a much better game than Real Suciedad F.C and deserved their victory. The Real Suciedad F.C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
