An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 7th minute of play forced Real Suciedad F.C's goalkeeper Prudencio Brion to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Malte Schiele hit a great ball. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them.
