After some careless play in the Plaza Babys CF defense, Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abelardo Macías. The Plaza Babys CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abelardo Macías should have stopped the shot. When Bernardino Aguilo fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Plaza Babys CF's protests and gave Bernardino Aguilo a yellow card for diving instead. Bernardino Aguilo hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Plaza Babys CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aļģis Engers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abelardo Macías. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran back to his position shaking his head. 39 minutes into the match, Plaza Babys CF's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Abelardo Macías reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wen Yu made a kick off. Abelardo Macías tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abelardo Macías didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wim Wilmes went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. When the final whistle sounded Netherlands left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Plaza Babys CF.
