With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edward Vanderstraeten in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olívio Correia saved Olympiacos FC from getting behind. Olívio Correia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Yves Dervaux blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olívio Correia having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Belgium's zone, Themos Proedropoulos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casper Claes came out of the goal and Themos Proedropoulos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matías Factor kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Olympiacos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Olívio Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 47th minute of play forced Olympiacos FC's goalkeeper Olívio Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After 51 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Olympiacos FC's Olívio Correia tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Nemesio Hechter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nemesio Hechter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nemesio Hechter in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Claes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Edward Vanderstraeten's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olívio Correia was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Belgium were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Olympiacos FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edward Vanderstraeten took the corner. The corner led Belgium's Sander Dermaut to fire away a dangerous shot which Olívio Correia despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Nemesio Hechter scored 2-2 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Casper Claes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Belgium were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Olympiacos FC to leave the ground with a draw.
