Adrian Dreifuss's late challenge caught a Småland Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adrian Dreifuss helped the player get up and apologised. The crowd rose to their feet as Frank Berggren kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tommy Kahn. In the 32nd minute of the match Gösta Gustafsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tommy Kahn skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Sachs in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joacim Hultman saved Småland Utd from getting behind. In the 38th minute, Willy Stieler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tommy Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Berggren in the 43rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Frank Berggren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Småland Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Berggren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Berggren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adrian Dreifuss got his second yellow card in the match during the 73rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Albin Holweck might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joacim Hultman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albin Holweck ran back to his position shaking his head. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Ove Lövgren in the 83rd minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 87 minutes, Joacim Hultman successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ulrich Stein succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 5-1 in the 87th playminute. When Frank Berggren came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Småland Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Berggren couldn't finish the play. 93 minutes into the match, Sven-Ove Lövgren notched a goal, 6-1, to the right of Germany's Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Germany's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
