After a defensive mix-up in Belgium's zone, Juancho Bonachea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casper Claes came out of the goal and Juancho Bonachea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 11 minutes, Erich Konig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BiBa and the Belgium players grew even worse after the yellow card. Yves Dervaux received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Kai-Uwe Bartek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edward Vanderstraeten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. In the 21st minute, Edward Vanderstraeten made a precise shot to the right of Kai-Uwe Bartek. BiBa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. With a little luck, Belgium's Casper Claes got control of the ball when Norbert Arbogast tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 31st minute, Edward Vanderstraeten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yves Dervaux received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Kai-Uwe Bartek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, BiBa's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Kai-Uwe Bartek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 41st minute of play forced BiBa's goalkeeper Kai-Uwe Bartek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edward Vanderstraeten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kai-Uwe Bartek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Erich Konig kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. After the first half Belgium were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

52 minutes into the match, BiBa's goalkeeper Kai-Uwe Bartek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Vanderstraeten. Belgium's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 53rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Kai-Uwe Bartek in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kai-Uwe Bartek came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten. But to his dismay, Edward Vanderstraeten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The supporters of BiBa booed when Belgium was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yves Dervaux didn't get a good kick on the ball. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andre Seemayer in the 64th minute of play. With his leg Kai-Uwe Bartek managed to avoid a goal in the 67thth minute, when Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The attack was good, but when Edward Vanderstraeten in the 70th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Erich Konig kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Kai-Uwe Bartek made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a good shot on target. Edward Vanderstraetens short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Kai-Uwe Bartek to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kai-Uwe Bartek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 94th minute of the match. Belgium's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
