Tony Vandenberge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta in the 9th minute of play. In the 13th match minute, RWDM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilian Bauwmans to maneuver through the defense. Tony Vandenberge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siricio Liotta in the 14th minute of play. Tony Vandenberge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gianpaolo Mascari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tony Vandenberge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Siricio Liotta in the 20th minute of the match. RWDM's Tony Vandenberge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Siricio Liotta in the 24th minute of play. Flavio Vittori made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Bass Boffin sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennert Van der Vloedt in the 27th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, RWDM's goal looked a bit too open when Sigfrido Auletta came free, but Tony Vandenberge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lennert Van der Vloedt in the 33rd minute of play. RWDM's Tony Vandenberge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 34th minute of play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind RWDM's goalkeeper Tony Vandenberge, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Italy were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after RWDM's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sigfrido Auletta took the corner. The corner led to Italy's Sostene Vitulli getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Tony Vandenberge came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Italy's Sigfrido Auletta. But to his dismay, Sigfrido Auletta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After the first half Italy were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zaccheo Andolina was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, RWDM's goalkeeper Tony Vandenberge had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zaccheo Andolina. Tony Vandenberge stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zaccheo Andolina's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the match, RWDM's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Tony Vandenberge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Italy's Eliseo Cutri quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Victor Figaro, made in the 60th minute of the game. 63 minutes into the match, RWDM's goalkeeper Tony Vandenberge had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Porziano Marchitelli. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by RWDM's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sigfrido Auletta was slow to take the kick. During this time Italy's players had a chance to rest. Italy's Sigfrido Auletta was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tony Vandenberge in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A throw-in in the 66th minute of the game was made by Victor Figaro with Fre Schoovaerts as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 69 played minutes Italy got a freekick which was hit by Gomberto Picozzi. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ritchie Kerkhofs in the 78th minute of play. After 79 minutes Italy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fernand De Beer who took care of the corner kick. Fernand De Beer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Vittori having to interfere. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy made a substitution. Adriano Curto replaced Zaccheo Andolina. Tony Vandenberge stood somewhat misplaced when Adriano Curto came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 86 minute. Ritchie Kerkhofs charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ritchie Kerkhofs the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to RWDM getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Ritchie Kerkhofs hit a great ball. Tony Vandenberge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guiscardo Davide, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 95th play minute Guiscardo Davide came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tony Vandenberge. 0-4. Italy's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
