After 23 minutes Omakeka's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Omakeka's 楚霖振 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 27th minute of play. 楚霖振 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fernando Couto charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernando Couto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Omakeka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. 楚霖振 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Márcio Quental, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zacarias Maltez was the one to do the kick off. Valério Corte-Real sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Caiado in the 60th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with 楚霖振 in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 64th minute Márcio Quental shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and 楚霖振 quite easily take care of the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Caiado came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 77 minutes of play, Omakeka's Zacarias Maltez made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zacarias Maltez in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 94 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Januário Castelo Branco in the 96th minute of the match.
