In the 2nd minute Jaap Sloedingen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilija Skugor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Fatih-Sultan Mehmet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Croatia's Ilija Skugor got control of the ball when Jaap Sloedingen tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12th minute, Fatih-Sultan Mehmet reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ilija Skugor. The goal made the score 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joost Telkamp in the 16th minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Ilija Skugor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 played minutes Croatia got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Domazet. In the 22nd minute, Ainis Naudzuns left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bergeikers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Croatia's zone, Fatih-Sultan Mehmet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilija Skugor came out of the goal and Fatih-Sultan Mehmet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ilija Skugor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ainis Naudzuns in the 26th minute of the match. After 27 minutes, Patrik Terzic mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Croatia and the Bergeikers players grew even worse after the yellow card. Patrik Terzic hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Ilija Skugor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ainis Naudzuns in the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harm Kleinman in the 30th minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Ilija Skugor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilija Skugor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastiaan Molhoek in the 32nd minute of play. Olo Marcos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinko Stankovic in the 33rd minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Bergeikers's goal looked a bit too open when Damir Pongrac came free, but Olo Marcos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dirk-Jan Mathijsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Ilija Skugor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the game, Harm Kleinman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ilija Skugor. Harm Kleinman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Croatia's Ilija Skugor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Croatia from getting a goal against them.
The wind increased when Ainis Naudzuns made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harm Kleinman in the 54th minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Ilija Skugor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilija Skugor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaap Sloedingen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Jaap Sloedingen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ilija Skugor was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Croatia's Ilija Skugor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ainis Naudzuns in the 56th minute of play. If Toni Mauzer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ilija Skugor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Harm Kleinman's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. After 65 minutes of play, Bergeikers's Fatih-Sultan Mehmet made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ilija Skugor was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ilija Skugor came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Bergeikers's Sebastiaan Molhoek. But to his dismay, Sebastiaan Molhoek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Ilija Skugor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastiaan Molhoek went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Ilija Skugor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joost Telkamp in the 80th minute of the match. Ilija Skugor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fatih-Sultan Mehmet went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. 84 minutes into the match, Croatia's goal looked a bit too open when Dirk-Jan Mathijsen came free, but Ilija Skugor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Jaap Sloedingen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ilija Skugor was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Croatia's Ilija Skugor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harm Kleinman in the 93rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ainis Naudzuns in the 94th minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Ilija Skugor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilija Skugor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaap Sloedingen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bergeikers walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
