An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 43rd minute of play forced Kropotkins pojkar's goalkeeper Per-Arne Vidman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zaccheo Andolina to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per-Arne Vidman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tahsin Elçioğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Zaccheo Andolina's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Per-Arne Vidman was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albano Boni in the 81st minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo-Hernán Vallejo came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Italy had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
