After some careless play in the FC SuurTükk defense, Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paavo Hiiu. The FC SuurTükk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paavo Hiiu should have stopped the shot. 9 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tambet Vilberg. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ermo Kübar in the 12th minute. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the FC SuurTükk defense, Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paavo Hiiu. The FC SuurTükk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paavo Hiiu should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 23rd minute of play forced FC SuurTükk's goalkeeper Paavo Hiiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paavo Hiiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paavo Hiiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 29th minute of the match. Mathijn Doctor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paavo Hiiu having to interfere. Paavo Hiiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 37th minute. The corner led Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer to fire away a dangerous shot which Paavo Hiiu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, FC SuurTükk's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Paavo Hiiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paavo Hiiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Eikelkamp in the 42nd minute of play. David Eikelkamp hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. FC SuurTükk's Paavo Hiiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 46th minute of play. The FC SuurTükk players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 0-2.

After 52 minutes FC SuurTükk's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. In the 58th minute Ermo Kübar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 64 minutes, Bas Tuitert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Netherlands and the FC SuurTükk players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bas Tuitert kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Paavo Hiiu firmly grabbed it by the left post. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tambet Vilberg in the 67th minute of the match. With a little luck, FC SuurTükk's Paavo Hiiu got control of the ball when Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paavo Hiiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Paavo Hiiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paavo Hiiu having to interfere. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armin Lumi, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Evert Toom struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Arnout Reekers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC SuurTükk. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Netherlands supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Netherlands would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
