If Amilcar Alvarado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sonsonate FC fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Sonsonate FC's Amilcar Alvarado looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Amilcar Alvarado did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised William Navas 20 minutes into the match. William Navas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amilcar Alvarado in the 22nd minute of the match. When Pablo Erazo came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Sonsonate FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pablo Erazo couldn't finish the play. William Navas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amilcar Alvarado's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 25th match minute, Newton on Ouse FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Meza to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amilcar Alvarado in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck William Navas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Sonsonate FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Jonathan Batres hit a great ball. Alexander Ochoa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Silverio Garci. Sonsonate FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Amilcar Alvarado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oswaldo Leguizamon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silverio Garci having to interfere. Silverio Garci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislao Corpeño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ladislao Corpeño to make the kick off. After 52 minutes of play, Sonsonate FC's Ricardo Morris made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. William Navas was left in no man's land by his defense there! 56 minutes into the match, Newton on Ouse FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amilcar Alvarado came free, but William Navas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sonsonate FC's Amilcar Alvarado got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Amilcar Alvarado put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of William Navas. In the 66th play minute Rene Padilla came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Silverio Garci. 4-1. William Navas came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Sonsonate FC's Amilcar Alvarado. But to his dismay, Amilcar Alvarado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgardo Flores during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 75 played minutes Sonsonate FC got a freekick which was hit by Edgardo Flores. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Pablo Erazo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sonsonate FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pablo Erazo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. William Navas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sonsonate FC's Antonio Rosales was substituted for Shawn Peredes. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Isaac Díaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sonsonate FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Isaac Díaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. William Navas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. William Navas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Morris in the 81st minute of the match. William Navas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Morris in the 84th minute of play. Isaac Díaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Navas having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sonsonate FC fully deserved thier win.
