The crowd rose to their feet as Selvin Giron kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Patricio Moreno. That made the score 2-0 in the 15 minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, East Grinstead United's goal looked a bit too open when Selvin Giron came free, but Patricio Moreno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute Selvin Giron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patricio Moreno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnoldo Coreas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jhalmar Escalante stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lorenzo Pimentel's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Whitwell were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after East Grinstead United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jhalmar Umaña took the corner. In the 41st minute, Ladislao Castaneda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Whitwell's Ismael Pineda got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 99th minute Whitwell were awarded a corner. Jhalmar Umaña went to the cornerflag to take it. Whitwell's Jhalmar Umaña was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Patricio Moreno in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Whitwell were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of East Grinstead United for a fine match.
