Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Lorenzo Pimentel started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After some careless play in the Preston defense, Ladislao Castaneda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raúl Guerrero. The Preston fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raúl Guerrero should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Pimentel in the 8th minute of play forced Preston's goalkeeper Raúl Guerrero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nelson Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 10 played minutes East Grinstead United got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Pérez. When Allan Coreas came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Preston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Allan Coreas couldn't finish the play. The supporters of East Grinstead United booed when Preston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Max Paz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Allan Coreas might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Patricio Moreno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Allan Coreas ran back to his position shaking his head. Allan Coreas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patricio Moreno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Ladislao Castaneda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Raúl Guerrero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of East Grinstead United booed when Preston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Verdugo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Preston's goalkeeper Raúl Guerrero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ladislao Castaneda. 28 minutes into the match, Ladislao Castaneda notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Preston's Raúl Guerrero. Raúl Guerrero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 31st minute Nelson Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patricio Moreno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nelson Guerra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Patricio Moreno having to make a save. Allan Coreas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patricio Moreno having to interfere. Nelson Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th match minute, East Grinstead United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Pérez to maneuver through the defense. Patricio Moreno didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Allan Coreas went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

After having played for 53 minutes, Lorenzo Pimentel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. East Grinstead United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lorenzo Pimentel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 54 minutes, David Verdugo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Preston and the East Grinstead United players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of East Grinstead United booed when Preston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Verdugo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lorenzo Pimentel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raúl Guerrero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Pimentel, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Castaneda in the 61st minute of play forced Preston's goalkeeper Raúl Guerrero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ladislao Castaneda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Allan Coreas in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patricio Moreno saved East Grinstead United from getting behind. Preston's Raúl Guerrero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Castaneda in the 72nd minute of play. If Lorenzo Pimentel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute Ladislao Castaneda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raúl Guerrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raúl Guerrero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Pimentel, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Preston's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
