Baltazar Oporto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD INDEPENDIENTE. When William Monzon came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Heswall United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that William Monzon couldn't finish the play. In the 26th match minute, CD INDEPENDIENTE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Max Aguilar to maneuver through the defense. William Monzon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Mondragon having to interfere. CD INDEPENDIENTE's Marcelo Mondragon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnoldo Renderos in the 31st minute of play. Oswaldo Collado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Marcelo Mondragon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. William Monzon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the game, William Monzon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Marcelo Mondragon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 42nd minute, Eliseo Rey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edgardo Mora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for William Monzon to strike the kick off in the second half. Baltazar Oporto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Mora, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Arnoldo Renderos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Mondragon having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Heswall United's William Monzon slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcelo Mondragon. That made the score 0-3 after 57 minutes of play. In the 61st minute of the match, William Monzon tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcelo Mondragon saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. CD INDEPENDIENTE's Marcelo Mondragon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Monzon in the 62nd minute of play. Marcelo Mondragon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Monzon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 77 played minutes CD INDEPENDIENTE got a freekick which was hit by Edgardo Mora. William Monzon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnoldo Renderos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Marcelo Mondragon skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Deris Palencia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 88 minutes, William Monzon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Heswall United's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Monzon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 89th minute, Edgardo Mora hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. William Monzon was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 91st minute. Heswall United's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. William Monzon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelo Mondragon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Heswall United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
