In the 7th match minute, Hemel Hempstead City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nelson Guerrero to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute Mauro Galeas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Madariaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Hemel Hempstead City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Antonio Amaya fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Oscar Mendoza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Boianelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th match minute, Wigston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pablo Castro to maneuver through the defense. Oscar Mendoza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Boianelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 33rd match minute, Hemel Hempstead City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Zelaya to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Carmelo Collado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Ernesto Boianelli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oscar Mendoza was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. In the 42nd minute, Antonio Amaya ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oscar Mendoza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 58thth minute of the game Ernesto Boianelli who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hemel Hempstead City's Oscar Mendoza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Hemel Hempstead City's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Boianelli came free, but Oscar Mendoza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antonio Amaya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Ernesto Boianelli, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 68 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Oscar Mendoza was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Antonio Amaya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Mendoza having to interfere. Ernesto Boianelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Oscar Mendoza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Wigston's Ernesto Boianelli sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oscar Mendoza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hemel Hempstead City's Oscar Mendoza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Boianelli in the 79th minute of play. Daniel Ochoa hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Wigston! Antonio Amaya scored 2-1 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oscar Mendoza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There was no doubt that Wigston were the better team. Wigston's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
