When Antonio Amaya came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Wigston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonio Amaya couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Netherton booed when Wigston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Tobar didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Boianelli in the 17th minute of play forced Netherton's goalkeeper Efrain Muñoz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The Netherton fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Wigston were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
