Ksawery Podolski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 11 played minutes Accrington got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Salazar. The Accrington fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After 51 minutes, Abraham Castillo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Deportivo Águila and the Accrington players grew even worse after the yellow card. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ksawery Podolski showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 54th minute, Mariano Castaneda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Castaneda got free with Ksawery Podolski in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ksawery Podolski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Paz in the 82nd minute of the match. Ksawery Podolski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Accrington. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Jaime Paz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Accrington's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Paz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ksawery Podolski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd minute, Jaime Paz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Accrington's zone, Cristian Vasquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saul Sifon came out of the goal and Cristian Vasquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Club Deportivo Águila fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Accrington were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
