Seating: 1944, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Marcelo Corpeño kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the game, Ruben Coreas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Guillermo Cortez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dagoberto Ventura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emiliano Mondragon having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Ruben Coreas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guillermo Cortez was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. 12 minutes into the game, Dagoberto Ventura cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Emiliano Mondragon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Ruben Coreas put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Guillermo Cortez. CD Santos's Ruben Coreas got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Dartford's goal looked a bit too open when Isaac Castaneda came free, but Guillermo Cortez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 30 minutes, Allan Benavides managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Santos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Allan Benavides was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alexis Fuentes kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Guillermo Cortez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruben Coreas in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, CD Santos's Ruben Coreas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Guillermo Cortez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Adolfo Granados hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Guillermo Cortez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaac Castaneda, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 45th minute of the match Milton Mayen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guillermo Cortez skillfully saved the ball. In the 47th minute Isaac Castaneda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Cortez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ruben Coreas was the one to do the kick off. Ruben Coreas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Guillermo Cortez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Arturo Meza received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Guillermo Cortez came out and tried to block the shot, but Arturo Meza slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 57th minute. Ruben Coreas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Guillermo Cortez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ruben Coreas took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guillermo Cortez. Guillermo Cortez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. 68 minutes into the match, CD Santos's Ruben Coreas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guillermo Cortez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arturo Meza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Dartford's William Bran got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes into the match, CD Santos's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Corpeño came free, but Emiliano Mondragon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Ruben Coreas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adolfo Granados's late challenge caught a CD Santos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adolfo Granados helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Allan Benavides managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Santos's supporters rose to their feet, but Allan Benavides was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guillermo Cortez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guillermo Cortez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Benavides in the 89th minute of play. Marcelo Corpeño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emiliano Mondragon having to interfere. Alexis Fuentes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CD Santos played a much better game than Dartford and deserved their victory. The Dartford players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
