Ricardo Fuentes's late challenge caught a Stamford AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Fuentes helped the player get up and apologised. Victorino Granados didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Max Molina went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Alberto Henriquez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victorino Granados was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Club Deportivo Aguila's Victorino Granados played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Will Barrera in the 11th minute of play. Club Deportivo Aguila's Primitivo Posadas managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Rolando Guerrero in the 25 minute of the game. Eraldo Viscarra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Salvador Anaya in the 28th minute. After some careless play in the Stamford AFC defense, Januario Alfaro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eraldo Viscarra. The Stamford AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eraldo Viscarra should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Stamford AFC's Alberto Messias got a free kick in the 37th minute. Alonso Rivero might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eraldo Viscarra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alonso Rivero ran back to his position shaking his head. Salvador Anaya was extremely unlucky when he, in the 44th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Salvador Anaya to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stamford AFC's goalkeeper Eraldo Viscarra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Salvador Anaya in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eraldo Viscarra saved Stamford AFC from getting behind. 59 minutes in the game Alexis Zelaya did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Will Barrera. Club Deportivo Aguila's Victorino Granados played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Max Molina in the 60th minute of play. Max Molina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorino Granados having to interfere. Stamford AFC's Eraldo Viscarra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Januario Alfaro in the 69th minute of play. The supporters of Stamford AFC booed when Club Deportivo Aguila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Januario Alfaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. But to his dismay, Salvador Anaya quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Salvador Anaya was shown his second yellow card after 94 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Stamford AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Club Deportivo Aguila.
