Victorino Granados made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Carranza in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Denholme AFC's goalkeeper Enrique Ortiz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alonso Rivero. Victorino Granados came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Denholme AFC's Marcelo Medrano. But to his dismay, Marcelo Medrano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Waldir Rivero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denholme AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Waldir Rivero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victorino Granados breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Waldir Rivero during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Club Deportivo Aguila booed when Denholme AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldir Rivero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Salvador Anaya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Ortiz having to interfere. Club Deportivo Aguila's Francisco Flamenco quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Douglas Paredes, made in the 39th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardo Garay during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Aguila's Ricardo Garay got a free kick in the 43rd minute. 46 minutes into the match, Denholme AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Salvador Anaya came free, but Enrique Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Waldir Rivero to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Salvador Anaya got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 61st minute, Waldir Rivero fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Club Deportivo Aguila's Victorino Granados played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Carranza in the 63rd minute of play. Antonio Carranza kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Enrique Ortiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salvador Anaya, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute, Salvador Anaya got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Denholme AFC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Ronald Noyola hit a great ball. Thanks to Club Deportivo Aguila's goalie finding himself so far out he could grab the ball Waldir Rivero tried to make a shot after getting passed the defense. Victorino Granados seemed to really have strength and confidence after that save. Alonso Rivero got a throw-in 77 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Salvador Anaya. Ricardo Fuentes came free in the 81st minute and tried to tip the ball over Enrique Ortiz, but to the joy of Denholme AFC's supporters the ball went over. Denholme AFC's Enrique Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Anaya in the 83rd minute of play.
