In the 34thth minute of the game Salvador Anaya who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Great Staughton United's Ruben Pinho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Salvador Anaya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Pinho having to interfere. Ernesto Cerna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Ernesto Cerna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antonio Jimenez to make the kick off. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Primitivo Posadas the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club Deportivo Aguila protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Primitivo Posadas had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Club Deportivo Aguila:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Great Staughton United:s goal. Great Staughton United succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Club Deportivo Aguila had controlled the match.
