Gilberto Santamaria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Pinho having to interfere. Carlos Flamenco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ruben Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Great Staughton United's goalkeeper Ruben Pinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Efrain Sandoval struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Dennys Orobio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Great Staughton United. Antonio Bran kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Efrain Sandoval got free with Dennys Orobio in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ovidio Villatoro hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 0-2 became the score in the 31st minute when Gilberto Santamaria elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 39th minute Antonio Jimenez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dennys Orobio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Efrain Sandoval's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dennys Orobio firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Great Staughton United's zone, Gilberto Santamaria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruben Pinho came out of the goal and Gilberto Santamaria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 48 played minutes Clapham got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Bran. After having played for 50 minutes, Efrain Sandoval managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Great Staughton United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Efrain Sandoval was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antonio Jimenez made a kick off. If Carlos Flamenco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clapham's Dennys Orobio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Efrain Sandoval in the 56th minute of play. Hugo Corrales kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Amilcar Viscarra sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Great Staughton United's Ruben Pinho didn't even have to move. In the 63rd minute, Gilberto Santamaria made a precise shot to the right of Ruben Pinho. Great Staughton United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 72nd minute Carlos Flamenco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Great Staughton United's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Flamenco came free, but Ruben Pinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilberto Santamaria ran back to his position shaking his head. Ruben Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Flamenco in the 91st minute of play. If Carlos Flamenco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 98th minute, Carlos Flamenco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Clapham played a much better game than Great Staughton United and deserved their victory. The Great Staughton United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
