Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Oswaldo Reyes started the match with the kick off. Oswaldo Reyes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Alvaro Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SantaAna's Salvador Menjivar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save SantaAna from getting a goal against them. After taking down the ball on SantaAna's corner Carmelo Benavides fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alvaro Baptista quite easily take care of the ball. If Felipe Cerna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvaro Baptista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Carrillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nelson Navas charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nelson Navas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nelson Navas hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, Edgardo Carrillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 27 minutes, Manuel Meza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SantaAna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Meza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erick Palencia struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Salvador Menjivar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maitros FC. Félix Suarez kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. David Pimentel scored 1-0 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Salvador Menjivar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Salvador Menjivar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oswaldo Lima in the 41st minute. 42 minutes into the match, Maitros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Félix Suarez came free, but Alvaro Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Maitros FC's goalie and right to Manuel Meza. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Maitros FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Alvaro Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswaldo Reyes in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Pimentel made a kick off. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maitros FC's goalkeeper Alvaro Baptista, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Manuel Meza managed to get in a good position for a shot. SantaAna's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Meza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alvaro Baptista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alvaro Baptista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgardo Carrillo in the 62nd minute. After a rather tough play, SantaAna's Oswaldo Reyes got a free kick in the 68th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Edgardo Carrillo could shoot a difficult shot in the 73rd minute, which Alvaro Baptista however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, Maitros FC's Alvaro Baptista got control of the ball when Edgardo Carrillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 79th minute Oswaldo Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Menjivar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgardo Carrillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvaro Baptista read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. In the 82nd minute SantaAna were awarded a corner. Carmelo Benavides went to the cornerflag to take it. Oswaldo Reyes made a great header on SantaAna's corner, it was just that Maitros FC's Alvaro Baptista managed to reach the ball for a save. SantaAna's Salvador Menjivar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Mendez in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswaldo Lima in the 85th minute of play forced SantaAna's goalkeeper Salvador Menjivar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute, Edgardo Carrillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristiano Goretzka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Baptista having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Maitros FC's Nelson Navas got a free kick in the 89th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Pimentel in the 92nd minute of play forced SantaAna's goalkeeper Salvador Menjivar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Maitros FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while SantaAna had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
