In the 4th minute, Dário Diniz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Diego Canales. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 6th minute, Nelson Lovo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 13 played minutes Herminio Florinio could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 3-0 into the left cross. Miguel Gallegos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Canales having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Miguel Gallegos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Diego Canales. Miguel Gallegos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. Dário Diniz in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Diego Canales, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ronald Díaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 25 minutes of play, Club Deportivo Águila's Dário Diniz made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diego Canales was left in no man's land by his defense there! 29 minutes into the game, Club Deportivo Águila's Dário Diniz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Diego Canales made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Angel Velis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Diego Canales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Canales didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ricky Koppens went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. 36 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Águila's Dário Diniz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diego Canales narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Ricky Koppens put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Diego Canales. Diego Canales made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dário Diniz in the 41st minute. Miguel Gallegos's late challenge caught a West Bromwich's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Gallegos helped the player get up and apologised. Miguel Gallegos kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 8-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronald Díaz was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Dário Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Canales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 52 minutes in the game, Dário Diniz dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 53rd minute, Dário Diniz made a precise shot to the right of Diego Canales. West Bromwich's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. Diego Canales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herminio Florinio, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Diego Canales was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
