Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristo Arotza in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Taurino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristo Arotza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute, Cristo Arotza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Taurino was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristo Arotza in the 29th minute of play forced Leales's goalkeeper Ricardo Taurino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd match minute, Leales was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Astor Umea to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Leales's zone, Cristo Arotza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Taurino came out of the goal and Cristo Arotza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the match, Fernando Victoro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Taurino. Leales's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernando Victoro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Ricardo Taurino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristo Arotza went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Alvaro Barto made the kick off in the second half. Toluca FC's Fernando Victoro got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Constantino Gotzon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvaro Barto in the 57th minute of the match. Ricardo Taurino made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Cristo Arotza sent off a good shot on target. Alvaro Barto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the match, Leales's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Victoro came free, but Ricardo Taurino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 72 minutes, Alfonso Nardo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Toluca FC and the Leales players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Toluca FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Leales:s goal. The referee gave Leales a penalty, 73 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ruben Burni, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Toluca FC's Constantino Gotzon. 2-3. After 78 played minutes, Toluca FC's Alfonso Nardo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ricardo Taurino came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Toluca FC reached it. With a little luck, Leales's Ricardo Taurino got control of the ball when Cristo Arotza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Constantino Gotzon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Espiridion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Leales booed when Toluca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florentino Juvenal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristo Arotza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristo Arotza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Taurino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Fernando Victoro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Taurino having to interfere. Ruben Burni charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruben Burni the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Toluca FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
