The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With his leg Victorio Louis managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Club Pumas UNAM's Ceferino Baumer fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luis Cheche's late challenge caught a Club Pumas UNAM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Cheche helped the player get up and apologised. In the 4th minute, Luis Cheche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victorio Louis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Lucero, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute Mauro Lucero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorio Louis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Club Pumas UNAM's goal looked a bit too open when Benigno Rito came free, but Edgard Llanos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Club Pumas UNAM's Victorio Louis threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mauro Lucero, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 17thth minute of the game Mauro Lucero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lezama's Victorio Louis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edgard Llanos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Hermon in the 18th minute of the match. Lezama's Victorio Louis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Lucero in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th match minute, Club Pumas UNAM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Lucero to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute Orlando Hermon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Llanos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Pumas UNAM's Edgard Llanos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aristides Bartolome in the 29th minute of play. Edgard Llanos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Hermon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 33 minutes, Orlando Hermon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lezama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orlando Hermon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the game, Club Pumas UNAM's Mauro Lucero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victorio Louis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Marcelo Abadie did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-0 to the left of a surprised Victorio Louis 44 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelo Abadie to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcelo Abadie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelo Abadie might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victorio Louis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcelo Abadie ran back to his position shaking his head. If Marcelo Abadie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Club Pumas UNAM's Marcelo Abadie in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lezama's goalie prevented a goal. In the 73rd minute, Benigno Rito reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edgard Llanos. The goal made the score 3-1. Mauro Lucero might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victorio Louis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauro Lucero ran back to his position shaking his head. Luis Cheche hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. 4-1 became the score in the 81st minute when Mauro Lucero elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Marcelo Abadie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute Benigno Rito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Llanos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Lezama's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Abadie came free, but Victorio Louis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute, Marcelo Abadie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Club Pumas UNAM players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
