Cristo Rutenio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgard Quin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Selvas AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Edgard Quin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alonzo Chabier in the 42nd minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Real Madrid's Cristo Rutenio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgard Quin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andres Lauaxeta was the one to do the kick off. Edgard Quin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alonzo Chabier in the 56th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Andres Lauaxeta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Selvas AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Andres Lauaxeta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serafino Ubelteso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristo Rutenio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgard Quin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristo Rutenio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 71 minutes, Cristo Rutenio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristo Rutenio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hernan Ursino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Zeledon Osmundo fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Madrid's protests and gave Zeledon Osmundo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 74th match minute, Real Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Osmundo to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute Hernan Ursino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafino Ubelteso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Selvas AFC booed when Real Madrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristo Rutenio didn't get a good kick on the ball.
